This model is based on illustrations from Out of the Cradle, a book about the future of manned space exploration by William K. Hartmann, Ron Miller and Pamela Lee. It was scratch-built and kit-bashed out of styrene and ABS plastic and acrylic. The asteroid is epoxy putty sculpted over a Plastruct 5-inch acrylic dome.
